Dar chairs high-level meeting on National Fiscal Pact implementation

Participants emphasize the need for a viable and collaborative approach to addressing the country’s ongoing fiscal challenges

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday chaired a high-level meeting of the committee overseeing the implementation of the National Fiscal Pact (NFP).

The meeting was attended by federal ministers for finance, planning, law, food security, economic affairs, and the Special Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister. Other participants included the Auditor General of Pakistan, Member of National Assembly Naveed Qamar, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, and senior officials from federal and provincial governments.

The committee discussed measures to improve the federal government’s fiscal resource base and reaffirmed its commitment to the National Fiscal Pact. Participants emphasized the need for a viable and collaborative approach to addressing the country’s ongoing fiscal challenges.
