Mari Energies Limited has clarified that no formal decision has been made regarding the allocation of 222 MMSCFD of indigenous gas.Â
This clarification comes following reports published on September 22, 2025 that the federal government has allocated 222 MMCFD of indigenous gas from the Ghazij/Shawal reservoir at the Mari Gas Field to three fertiliser plants.Â
In a notice issued to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday, the E&P giant stated that while the matter was discussed during a meeting on September 16, 2025, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, no final decision has been reached.Â
The company added that the recommendations from the committee will be forwarded to the Petroleum Division for further consideration and government approval.
Mari Energies Limited, the operator of the Mari Gas Field in Ghotki district, produces gas from four reservoirs: Habib Rahi Limestone (HRL), Sui Upper/Main Limestone (SUL/SML), Ghazij/Shawal, and Goru-B Deep.
