Mari Energies to complete 5MW data center in Islamabad next year

Company expands footprint with new technology ventures, data center projects in Islamabad and Karachi

Mari Energies Limited (MARI) is set to complete its 5MW data centre in Islamabad by early next year, and construction is already underway for a data centre in Karachi, according to Arif Habib Limited (AHL).

MARI recently incorporated Mari Technologies with a 100% ownership and SKY47 with a 60% ownership to enhance its technology services.

MARI also reported operational updates during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on September 26, 2025, including record reserves and production growth. The company added 110 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOE) to its 2P reserves, achieving a Reserve Replacement Ratio (RRR) of 278%. The total 2P + 2C reserves now stand at 952 million BOE, while 3P reserves and resources are at 1,610 million BOE.

The company’s production reached a record 39.13 million BOE in FY25, reflecting a slight year-on-year increase of 0.31%. MARI also announced new discoveries in the Spinwam-1, Soho-1, and Shah Bandar blocks, adding significant volumes to its resource base.

The company is targeting a combined production of 300 mmcfd from Spinwam and Shewa, contingent on pipeline infrastructure development.

In the Ghazij and Shawal fields, MARI has already added 48 mmcfd to its output. Discussions with the government are underway for gas allocation to fertilizer plants.

MARI’s international operations are also expanding with discoveries in the Abu Dhabi Block, holding an estimated 110 million BOE in reserves.

Financially, MARI reported a decline in profit after tax (PAT) to PKR 65.1 billion in FY25 from PKR 77.3 billion in FY24, mainly due to increased wellhead costs and lower product prices. Despite the decline, the company maintained a 40% dividend payout ratio, distributing PKR 21.7 per share.
