3,600 MW projects to be completed this year: PML-N lawmakers

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmakers have said that 3,600-megawatt gas-power projects at Jhang, Sheikhupura and Balloki will be completed during the current year.

Talking to official in Lahore, MNA Mehmood Bashir Virk said that the government is working on alternative energy sources to meet the growing demand.

MNA Awais Leghari said that the first unit for the Haveli Bahadur Shah gas-power plant has started producing 760-MW of electricity.

He said that about 3,000-megawatt energy will be available through solar and wind projects and work on hydel projects to generate 12,000-megawatt electricity is also in progress.

MPA Majid Zahoor said that the Punjab government has saved Rs 112 billion in energy projects.
