Passing out ceremony of fresh batch of training officers of commerce ministry

ISLAMABAD: Commerce Secretary Mohammad Younus Dagha on Saturday urged the young officers of the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) to work hard and with dedication as there is no shortcut to success in the practical life.

He was addressing the passing out ceremony of 24th Specialised Training Programme (STP) organised by Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development (PITAD), which is working under the MoC.

The secretary said that the commerce and trade group is becoming more visible by each passing year and with the induction of new officers in the group it will become a more effective element of the government. He said a considerable number of commerce and trade officers are posted abroad as well as on key positions in MoC and its attached departments. He said this requires enhanced service delivery which should be evident from the professionalism and performance of the officers. Dagha congratulated the officers on the successful completion of their training.

The PITAD Director General Mohammad Ilyas Ghauri presented the report of training activities conducted for the course during last one year. He thanked the ministry for its active support in providing the required facilities for the training course. He also enumerated a number of milestones achieved by PITAD including foreign training course arranged for the probationers in WTI Bern Switzerland, Training of Afghan Commerce Officers, ECO seminars, and the first roundtable on WTO’s information Technology Accession (ITA-I) held in PITAD. The director general congratulated the graduates and wished them for their future endeavours.

The event marked the successful conclusion of the specialised training programme which started in April 2017 in newly built campus of Pakistan Institute of Trade and Development.
