PFC lauds PM Imran’s endeavours in uplifting exports

LAHORE: Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq said on Friday that the entire business community has lauded Prime Minister Imran Khan’s official foreign visits to Saudi Arabia, UAE, China and Malaysia, as his counterparts not only promised to help Pakistan come out of economic crunch, but also committed to strengthening trade and economic ties.

Presiding over a meeting of PFC board of directors on Friday, he said a high-level PFC delegation was included in the prime minister’s entourage in China which was warmly welcomed by the Chinese furniture makers and investors.

The Chinese showed a keen interest in establishing joint ventures with PFC, he claimed, adding that all four countries reiterated their resolve to transform the existing relations with Pakistan into a strategic long-term economic partnership through a direct and transparent approach.

He said the prime minister’s recent visit to Malaysia is a big success for the country and hoped that both the brotherly Islamic countries would further strengthen the bilateral relationship in different fields, especially in the furniture sector.

“We have chalked out a comprehensive roadmap to accelerate cooperation in the furniture sector and soon delegations from China and Malaysia will visit Pakistan to participate in the upcoming PFC’s 10th Interiors Pakistan exhibition on Dec 14 in Lahore,” he added.

Mian Kashif appreciated the government for supporting the local industry to boost exports, adding that PFC is planning to organise exhibitions in different countries.
