Punjab to prohibit imports of tyre scrap

Punjab Minister of Industries, Commerce and Investment Sheikh Alauddin stressed that the government will ensure application and compliance of environmental laws in order to fight pollution in the province. In this regard, the plastic industry is being shifted to other areas and a ban on the import of tyre scrap will be enforced, he stated while speaking to media at the 3P+FT Pakistan 2017 – the 13th International Plastic, Printing & Packaging and FT Food & Technology Pakistan Exhibition that commenced at the Expo Centre Lahore on Friday.

With respect to the exhibition, he mentioned such fairs would provide new horizons for investors and improve employment opportunities for the youth.

He reserved special praise for the organizers Fakt Exhibitions in promoting the industries and launching the latest plastic, printing, packaging and food technology.

The exhibition is primarily aimed at creating business and networking opportunities for the manufacturing sector. It acts as a liaison for contacts connecting local and international companies in printing, packaging, plastic and food technology.

CEO M Saleem Khan Tanoli of Fakt Exhibitions stated the event was host to more than 250 companies from around 25 countries. These included Germany, India, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States Austria, China.
