LCCI demands shifting of industrial connections to old Sui gas

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has demanded that  Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) shift back the industrial connections from temporary RLNG to the old Sui Gas.

LCCI President Abdul Basit, Senior Vice President Amjad Ali Jawa and Vice President Muhammad Nasir Hameed Khan, in a statement issued, have stated that the chamber has been receiving numerous complaints from members that the industrial gas connections were claimed to be shifted to RLNG temporarily owing to a shortage of gas. Despite SNGPL claiming that the connections would be reverted back to Sui Gas after March 15, 2017, the industrial connections have not been restored back on Sui gas. The industrialists showed concern over rising costs for the sector. They said that RLNG is expensive in comparison to natural gas which is leading to rising costs for the industrialists.

In addition to this, they claimed that SNGPL has initiated advance adhoc billing which should be discontinued keeping in view the welfare of the industry.
