SBP reserves surge by $1.5bn, stand at $8.1bn

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $14.8 billion on 25th January 2019.

According to a statement issued by the State Bank of Pakistan, foreign reserves held by the SBP stood at $8.1 billion while net foreign reserves held by commercial banks were recorded at $6.6 billion.

During the week ending January 25, SBP received inflows of $1 billion each from Saudi Arabia and UAE as placement of funds. After taking into account outflows relating to external debt and other official payments, SBP reserves increased by $1.5 billion during the week.
