Business community expresses solidarity with PM Khan, armed forces

KARACHI: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Saturday organised an event “Jaag Raha hai Pakistan” to pay tribute and express solidarity with the government and armed forces of Pakistan.

The event was graced by Karachi Commissioner Iftikhar Ali Shallwani along with leading businessmen of the country. Nuclear Scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan also addressed the event telephonically.

FPCCI leader Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said on the occasion that the business community is proud of the armed forces and appreciated the capability of Pakistan Air Force. He also lauded the arbitrary role of the United Nations and other friendly nations in resolving India-Pakistan tension.

Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan said the morale of the entire nation is high as Pakistan is a nuclear power and no one has the courage to cast an evil eye on the motherland.

He said the entire nation stands with the armed forces and is confident that Pakistan will emerge victorious from the prevalent situation. He also urged the business community to play their due role in economic development and enhancement of exports.

Representing the business community, leading businessman S M Muneer said that the people of both sides want peace and good relations but some elements in India are creating tension for their personal gains.

The participants expressed solidarity with Prime Minister Imran Khan and armed forces and highlighted the achievement of previous India-Pakistan wars. The business community also passed a resolution to pledge their support to the government and the armed forces.
