PM Khan says ‘Blue Economy’ policy to revitalise shipping sector, save foreign exchange

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday congratulated the Ministry of Maritime Affairs for finalising the ‘Blue Economy’ policy saying that it will revitalise the country’s shipping sector and save foreign exchange.

“I congratulate [Ministry of Maritime Affairs] for finalising a new and dynamic Blue Economy policy to revitalise our shipping sector,” the prime minister said in a tweet.

He added that the Blue Economy policy will save foreign exchange for Pakistan and create more employment opportunities for its seafarers. “We will ensure Pakistan fulfills its enormous maritime potential,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi in response to the prime minister’s tweet said that the Ministry of Maritime Affairs will overcome challenges and deliver its best by realising and maximising the enormous potential of the Blue Economy in Pakistan.

  1. Ignored polices of past destroyed the cheap source of transportation.Now need of time.is induct more ships.
    Few passenger vessels must be included for carrying hajj passenger in fleet to reduce the fare or cost of hajj.
