No shortage of wheat after this month, ECC told

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has been informed that wheat imported from Russia will reach Pakistan within this month after which there will be no shortage of the commodity in the country.

The ECC, which met in Islamabad with Advisor on Finance Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the chair, decided to constitute a subcommittee in consultation with provinces and other stakeholders to work out the total volume of subsidy involved on imported and local wheat.

It was also decided that a Logistics Committee would be formed to resolve day-to-day logistic issues of wheat import.
