LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore, led by Director General (DG) Muhammad Ahtram Dar, held its monthly Open Hearing session at the NAB Lahore Bureau, addressing grievances from victims of various illegal housing schemes and fraudulent Ponzi schemes.
A significant number of complainants from major housing scams, including the Prime Zone Scandal, Al-Rehman Garden Phase 4, Khayaban-e-Amin Housing Society, and Palm Vista Housing Scheme, presented their cases directly to DG NAB. Victims of other prominent scams, such as Grand Avenue Housing, Professional Cooperative Housing, New Lahore City, Omega Housing, and Bin Alam Housing, also voiced their concerns.
DG NAB Lahore attentively listened to the complaints and assured the victims of NAB’s commitment to justice and accountability. He set clear deadlines for investigation teams to make significant progress in these cases and emphasised the importance of timely relief for the public, as directed by the Chairman NAB.
In response to the Prime Zone Scandal, DG NAB Lahore confirmed that a corruption reference has already been filed against the accused in the Accountability Court. Efforts are also underway to repatriate the main accused through Interpol, while five other suspects have been arrested and included in the reference.
Regarding Al-Rehman Garden Phase 4, the DG instructed the investigation team to resolve the registration issues of 77 victims within two weeks. In the case of Khayaban-e-Amin Housing Society, it was noted that plots have been allotted to 550 of the 700 complainants, with a deadline set for resolving the remaining issues by May 10, 2025.
For Omega Housing Society, the management has been directed to refund victims in accordance with the NAB-approved refund policy, with strict compliance ensured by the investigation team.
The victims expressed their satisfaction with NAB Lahore’s efforts, particularly appreciating the swift actions and timely intervention by DG NAB Lahore, and voiced optimism that their issues will be resolved in the coming weeks.
