Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves reach $16.64 billion

The central bank’s reserves rise by $70 million to $11,516 million as of May 23, up from $11,446.5 million on May 16

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $16,636.7 million as of May 23, 2025, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The central bank’s reserves rose by $70 million during the week, reaching $11,516 million, up from $11,446.5 million recorded a week earlier on May 16.

Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks amounted to $5,120.7 million, slightly down from $5,202 million in the previous week.

In the week ending May 16, 2025, Pakistan’s total foreign reserves were $16,648.5 million, indicating a marginal weekly decline of $11.8 million in the overall reserves.

The SBP continues to report weekly reserve data as part of its commitment to transparency and market communication.
