Pakistan launches CEGA to incubate 200 startups and boost gaming, animation sectors

Initiative to train 10,000 professionals and create new opportunities for economic growth

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched the Center of Excellence in Gaming and Animation (CEGA), aiming to incubate 200 startups over the next five years and establish Pakistan as a regional leader in the gaming and animation industries. 

The initiative will also train 10,000 professionals and provide 100 free co-working seats to young innovators.

A formal agreement to set up CEGA was signed between the Ignite National Technology Fund, operating under the Ministry of IT, and HUM Network Limited. Officials from the Ministry of IT described the center as a game-changing platform that will elevate Pakistan’s creative talent to a global level.

With modern infrastructure, expert mentorship, and access to international markets, CEGA will create significant opportunities for economic growth and innovation, positioning Pakistan as a regional hub for the gaming and animation sectors.

The launch of CEGA represents a major step in empowering entrepreneurs, fueling the digital economy, and strengthening Pakistan’s presence in the global creative industry.
