Lahore Development Authority earns record Rs3.47 billion from property auction

Finance and Trade Centre plot fetches Rs1.29 billion in highest single-auction revenue

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) generated record revenue of over Rs3.47 billion during its latest public auction held at the Expo Centre on Tuesday, marking its highest-ever single auction collection.

The auction featured 36 residential and commercial plots, along with sites for a petrol pump, marquee, health and education facilities, public utilities, a sports complex, and tenancy rights for a cafeteria and salon. 

According to the LDA, this was the fourth public auction of the year and reflected significant improvement in revenue performance.

Major highlights included the auction of leasehold rights for the Peterville Pump site at Liberty Market for Rs115.2 million, and a marquee site in Johar Town that fetched Rs45 million per annum. 

A health and education site in New Garden Town was auctioned for Rs17.6 million per annum, while a similar site in Jubilee Town secured Rs41 million per annum.

Other auctions included lease rights for a cafeteria at the Sports Complex Canal West near EME for Rs4.8 million per annum and a ladies’ salon at the same complex for Rs1.32 million per annum. A public utility site in the Lake City Bellavista Housing Scheme was sold for Rs88 million.

The highest bid of the day came from the Finance and Trade Centre in Johar Town, where a commercial plot was auctioned for Rs1.296 billion, contributing substantially to the record total.
