PIA partners with Riyadh Air to expand cargo operations and boost revenue

The new cargo agreement, effective October 29, will link Pakistan and London to Riyadh for onward global distribution through both airlines’ combined networks.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a strategic cargo partnership with Riyadh Air, the newly launched Saudi Arabian carrier, to strengthen its global freight operations and enhance revenue generation.

Under the agreement, which takes effect on October 29, cargo shipments originating from Pakistan and London will be transported to Riyadh, where they will be distributed to additional destinations via the integrated networks of both airlines, the PIA spokesperson said.

The collaboration is designed to expand PIA’s cargo footprint while meeting growing international demand for efficient air freight services.

Highlighting the airline’s broader cargo strategy, the spokesperson noted that PIA already maintains a partnership with British Airways, through which around 1,000 tonnes of cargo are transported to the United Kingdom each year. The new arrangement with Riyadh Air, he added, represents a key step in diversifying and strengthening PIA’s logistics network to achieve sustainable growth in the aviation cargo sector.
