ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has emphasized the need for international partnerships to address economic, environmental, and technological challenges, urging collaboration for inclusive and sustainable development.
Speaking at the 5th International Workshop for Leadership & Stability at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Saturday, he highlighted Pakistan’s strategic role in regional trade and investment.
The president underscored Pakistan’s position as a gateway to landlocked Central Asian economies, inviting international partners to leverage Gwadar Port for shared economic growth. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional connectivity and stressed the importance of global cooperation in tackling security risks, disinformation, and climate change, stating that stability is essential for progress.
With 64 foreign participants and 32 Pakistani professionals from business, diplomacy, and governance attending the workshop, Zardari urged leaders to create economic opportunities and drive sustainable development. He encouraged dialogue and cooperation over division, calling on stakeholders to translate insights from the workshop into real-world solutions.
The National Defence University (NDU), which organized the workshop, briefed the president on its role in fostering global dialogue and leadership development. Zardari commended the initiative, emphasizing its importance in shaping perspectives on governance and stability in an evolving global economy.
