Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday instructed relevant authorities to ensure complete transparency throughout the construction process of the Jinnah Medical Complex (JMC). He also emphasized the importance of adhering to the established timelines for the hospital’s development.
The directives were issued during a review meeting on the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre. During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif was briefed on the progress of the project. It was reported that the design consultant for the complex had been selected, and the contract process with the Pakistan Engineering Council was underway.
The Prime Minister was also informed that advertisements for the selection of experts for third-party validation would be issued soon. Additionally, the federal cabinet has already approved the appointment of the CEO of the complex.
Officials briefed the Prime Minister that the geotechnical study for the project had been completed, while hydrology and seismic studies are expected to be finalized by next month.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif resumed his official duties following his return from Egypt, where he had participated in the Gaza Peace Summit. During the meeting, the Prime Minister shared insights from his visit, and participants commended his diplomatic efforts, recognizing that Pakistan had gained significant diplomatic standing from the summit.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, and Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar.
