Haji Ghulam Ali’s candidature for FPCCI President rejected

LAHORE: Nomination of Businessmen Panel (BMP) presidential candidate, former senator Haji Ghulam Ali, has been rejected for the election of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

Haji Ghulam Ali had filed his nomination papers for the election of FPCCI President against his rival United Business Group candidate Ghazanfar Bilour, however, Ministry of Commerce’s director general trade organisations had rejected Haji Ghulam Ali’s nomination papers.

His candidacy was rejected on the basis that he had wrongly registered in the small trader members’ category whereas he should have registered in the higher tiers. It was also highlighted that he had previously been elected as the president and it would be unfair to other traders.
