Retired DMG officer Shahid Mehmood appointed Asian Development Bank ED

ISLAMABAD: Government on Thursday appointed Shahid Mehmood, a close aide of the defunct finance minister Ishaq Dar, as Executive Director (ED) Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The notification of his appointment was issued on Thursday by the Establishment Division after the prime minister approved his appointment.

The notification reads that Shahid Mehmood, a retired BS-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) has been appointed as ED, ADB Manila for the period of four years.

Shahid Mehmood will assume the charge of ADB ED on February 1 as the incumbent ED Sami Saeed’s tenure will end on January 31.  Shahid Mehmood retired as finance secretary on January 6.

He had been working as special assistant to Ishaq Dar three years ago and was appointed as finance secretary last year.

On the other hand, Najeeb-ur-Rehman Bugvi, a BS-19 officer of Police Service of Pakistan presently serving in National Highway and Motorway Police (NHMP) was transferred and posted as senior superintendent of police (operations) in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police with immediate effect.

Furthermore, Sajid Kiyani, a BS-19 officer of Police Service of Pakistan presently posted as senior superintendent of police (operations) in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police was transferred to Intelligence Bureau (IB).

In addition to this, Muhammad ILyas, a BS-19 officer, presently serving in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) police was transferred and his services have been placed at the disposal of the Punjab Government with immediate effect.
