Pakistan seeks renewal of 100MW electricity import agreement with Iran

ISLAMABAD: Power Division Minister Omar Ayub Khan, while reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to further promoting its brotherly relations with Iran, has said that Pakistan is looking forward to boosting its existing cooperation with Iran in the field of power generation.

In a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Mehdi Honardoost on Monday, the minister assured that the Power Division would soon hold comprehensive discussions with the Iranian side on the renewal of the agreement for 100MW electricity import to Pakistan from Iran.

The spirit of brotherly cooperation between Iran and Pakistan was reiterated during the meeting with the desire of working together on possibilities of exploring further avenues in the field of power generation and transmission.

The minister called for an urgent meeting between Iran and Pakistan for the renewal of 100MW electricity import agreement.
