500,000 applications received for ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme’

ISLAMABAD: About 500,000 applications have so far been received for ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme’, launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide affordable housing facility to poor citizens, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.

According to official sources, there is a shortfall of over 10 million houses in the country, with backlog witnessing an increase every year.

The present government, under the leadership of PM Imran Khan, intends to promote the access to housing among the people of Pakistan, they added.

The officials expressed confidence that the housing schemes initiated by the government would not only be completed timely but would also ensure the provision of all basic civic facilities.
