NEPRA approves tariff hike of Rs1.78 per unit

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday approved 1.78 paisa per unit hike in power tariff under the fuel adjustment formula for the month of July.

As per details, the rise in power tariff will put an additional burden of Rs24.60 billion on consumers. The hike will not affect the K-Electric’s lifeline agriculture consumers.

In the month of July 2019, as much as 32.53pc electricity was generated from hydel resources while 14.33pc of power was produced from coal, 11.81pc from local gas, 24.51pc from imported LNG and 5.50pc from furnace oil.
