Govt making efforts to roll over 3bn CPEC debt

Pakistan and China have decided to hold the 10th meeting of the Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and discuss the roll over of CPEC debt worth $3 billion.

Pakistan has suggested a new agreement regarding the repayment of debt of CPEC energy projects. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on CPEC Affairs Khalid Mansoor commented during the press conference, “talks with Chinese authorities have begun for a win-win situation”

Mansoor added that the roll over of debt was still at the initial stages.

According to SAPM, the much-delayed 10th JCC meeting is very important to re-energise the CPEC projects.
