Pakistan and China have agreed to encourage airlines from both countries to introduce new direct routes and expand the frequency of existing flights, as part of the recently signed China-Pakistan Action Plan (2025–2029) in Beijing.
The plan identifies civil aviation as a priority area within the broader framework of people-to-people exchanges. According to the document, the initiative will facilitate smoother travel for business communities, students, tourists and professionals, strengthening connectivity between the two nations.
Officials noted that enhanced aviation links will complement ongoing projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and wider regional integration efforts. Stronger air connectivity is also expected to support cooperation in education, culture, tourism and trade.
By encouraging airlines to open new routes and increase existing frequencies, both sides aim to reduce travel time, deepen people-to-people interaction, and expand opportunities for bilateral engagement across multiple sectors.
