BRT service to resume after clearance by Chinese experts: CM aide

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information, Kamran Bangash, here on Thursday clarified that the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service had been suspended only temporarily to save precious lives and dig out the main cause behind the fire eruption.

Reacting to criticism on the suspension, he told media that a Chinese team from the manufacturing company has arrived in the country to probe fire eruption cases reported in BRT buses.

He said the team would submit a report after completing an investigation that would help authorities to deduce the root cause and solve it once and for all. “Services would resume after acquiring proper clearance from Chinese technical experts,” he added.

He said the government was aware of the problems faced by people, adding that no compromise will be made on the safety of the general public.

The CM’s aide said that that preliminary report hinted at the possibility of a technical problem that would be fixed by the Chinese.
