Geely will launch its own brand in Britain later this year, starting with the EX5 electric SUV.
The company said the vehicle is still going through development to meet UK standards and will be available for purchase in the fourth quarter.
The EX5 is the first of several models Geely plans to bring to the UK. The company said it will offer a variety of vehicles suited to British consumers.
Geely joins other Chinese automakers such as BYD, Xpeng, and Chery’s Omoda and Jaecoo brands that have already entered the UK market.
Britain is Europe’s largest market for electric vehicles and, unlike the European Union, does not apply tariffs on electric cars made in China.
Geely has also announced plans to launch the EX5 in Australia, Brazil, and Poland. The company’s other brands—Volvo Cars, Lotus, and Polestar—already sell vehicles in the UK.
Geely’s global vehicle sales rose 34% last year to nearly 2.2 million units.
