PM meets Chinese business leaders, assures complete facilitation

BEIJING: Heads of major Chinese business groups called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Beijing on Saturday.

The executives included China Railways Construction Corporation (CRCC) Chairman Chen Fenjian, Bank of China Group (BOCG) Chairman Chen Siqing, Power China Chairman Yan Zhiyong, China Rainbow International Investment Chairman Da Can Like, Huawei Middle East Region President Charles Yang and China Gezhouba President Lyu Zexiang.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Adviser to PM Abdul Razzak Dawood, Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Maritime Minister Ali Zaidi and Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua, Ambassador Masood Khalid and other senior officials represented the Pakistani side during the meeting.

The business leaders congratulated the prime minster on his victory in the elections and assuming the office of the prime minster. They said that under the leadership of the Prime Minster Imran Khan, Pakistan would enter into new era of development.

They expressed their gratitude for the support Pakistan was extending to the Chinese companies in hydropower, renewable energy, construction, infrastructure development and other sectors, particularly under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects. The executives expressed their desire to further invest in Pakistan’s socioeconomic sectors.

Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated the business ventures of the Chinese companies in Pakistan under the CPEC projects. The prime minister shared his socioeconomic reform agenda with the Chinese business leaders.

He expressed satisfaction over the progress on the CPEC projects. Highlighting the immense market potential and geostrategic advantage of Pakistan, the prime minister encouraged the business leaders to explore investment opportunities in the diverse socioeconomic sectors. He assured maximum facilitation to the Chinese business companies for doing business in Pakistan.
