Govt to formulate new energy policy

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Energy Umar Ayub Khan has said that the government is taking measures to reduce electricity rates for consumers.

Talking to a private TV channel, he said renewal energy projects would be launched in the country that will bring the energy rates down. Expressing satisfaction over the performance of energy department, he said the government has recovered Rs 112 billion after controlling electricity theft in the country. He said a new energy policy would be formulated to balance the system in electricity sector.
