Petrol price likely to be hiked by Rs5 per litre

A further hike of Rs5 in the price of petrol is expected in view of the devaluation of Pakistani Rupee and an increase in international oil prices.

According to details, the US Dollar increased by 6pc against the Pakistani Rupee in June, while the prices of US crude oil increased by $2, taking it to $56.65 per barrel. On the other hand, prices of British crude oil increased to $64.52.

The federal government had earlier increased the prices of petroleum products before Eidul Fitr, as it decided to revise the prices of petroleum products upward for the month of June.

The price of petrol was increased by Rs4.26, making it Rs112.68 per litre.

The price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was increased by Rs4.5 to Rs126.82 per litre and that of Kerosene oil by Rs1.69 per litre to Rs98.46 per litre.
