Famous US-based Venture Capital company meets govt officials for future prospects

ISLAMABAD: American Venture Capital (VC) firm Thrive Capital has expressed the desire to invest in the Pakistani startup ecosystem in a meeting with Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh.

The meeting was held on Wednesday at the Finance Division with Hafeez Shaikh in the chair to discuss ways and means for enhancing foreign investment in the Pakistani startup ecosystem.

The meeting was attended among others by the Digital Pakistan Chief Tania Aidrus, State Bank of Pakistan Governor Dr Reza Baqir, Finance Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch and investors from Thrive Capital.

During the meeting, representatives from Thrive Capital expressed a desire to invest in Pakistan’s startups with a view to putting local startups on the map.
